Hey there,
If you like TED talks, check out my key takeaways from TEDx Zorilor 2023 and TEDx Eroilor 2023 that took place recently in Cluj-Napoca. I have participated as a simple spectator, although I aspire to be a speaker in the future. Fingers crossed 🙂
Key takeaways from TEDx Zorilor 2023
1. Dr. Cezar: the connection between food and our emotions.
– A healthy formula: quality food, moderate quantity & frequence, right context
– Find a balance in everything based on the principle “mens sana in corpore sana”
2. Alex Nedea: how to find the right job for us.
– Look for a job that makes you happy and helps you fulfill your purpose in life
– You can go from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset due to the brain’s neuroplasticity function
– Trust your positive inner voice, not the negative one
3. Mihnea Maruta: about our virtual identity
– Social media networks seduce us because they make us feel great, give us importance, help us fulfill our desires and provide us with a safe virtual ID behind a screen.
4. Domnica Petrovai: from human love to artificial intelligence
– Let’s develop our ability to remain connected with ourselves and the others around us during tense, emotional situations
5. Horia Tecau: a winning mentality
– Develop a new perspective of “winning or learning” instead of “right and wrong”
– Change your thoughts, change your life
– The negative voice in your mind is not yours per se, but rather it’s part of your emotional wounds
6. Dan Stefan: about autonomy
– The true definition of autonomy = freedom + responsibility
– Idealism and curiosity are the fundamental pillars of progress
7. Andrada Mazilu: about education as an instrument of change
– Education is one of the best instruments through which we can change the world for the better
– Unfortunately, only 6% of Romanians read
8. Adi Hadean: love all, feed all
– Love all, feed all. If you can’t love everyone, at least feed them 🙂
My favorite speeches were the ones from Andrada Mazilu and Horia Tecau.
You can check out the lineup and more details about the next event at this link.
Key takeaways from TEDx Eroilor 2023
1. Lucian Butnaru: besides an inspiring story, Lucian talked about how simply removing sugar from your coffee out of necessity can change your life’s trajectory.
2. Vlad Vancia: trust, empathy, and respect between humans and animals are the foundation for a successful relationship.
3. Gabriela Bud: social pressure disrupts the balance between beauty and health standards.
4. Nora Niculescu: carefully search for yourself in your broken fragments for your sake and those around you.
5. Geta Ungurean: life begins at 40, until then you’re just doing research or how self-love can be a tool to break the barriers imposed by fear and the need for validation.
6. Simona Paun: perseverance, patience, and self-confidence help you overcome the challenges of a male-dominated profession and not limit your dreams and aspirations.
7. Patrick Braila: learn to be reborn to love, be happy, and inspire while juggling mental health and its importance.
8. Gelu Duminica: the beauty of diversity and its importance for the community in the fight against prejudices and randomly established criteria of superiority and inferiority.
9. Răzvan Exarhu: he told many beautiful stories, but the idea that some experiences and stories may not save the world but are essential, like a safety pin.
10. Cristina Bâtlan: “Every risk brings a beneficial change in the life of any individual.”
My favorite speeches were the ones from Simona Paun, Nora Niculescu and Geta Ungurean, in this order 🙂
I love a good TEDx event, no matter the location or the general theme. Most of the time I don’t even read about the speakers beforehand. I simply know that I’m going to like most of the speeches. 🙂
By the way, you can read my previous blog post regarding new updates for my journey as an author. Thanks a lot!
Till next time,
Cristian
