Hey there,
I haven’t written anything on my blog lately. I’ve been busy with the launch of my book “Meetings of fate”, the first one in the Angel Afterlife series. Moreover, I’m now in the final editing process of the second book in this sy-help series.
More about these in a moment 🙂
As you’ve probably seen on my social media accounts, I’ve done a few interviews lately, participated at slam poetry competitions, focused on developing the Angel Afterlife series, and have started writing a book in Romanian on self-awareness and my philosophy of personal innovation. Eager to learn more?
Let’s dig in. I’ll try to make it short.
Interview for Cititor În Pijama (Eng. Reading in pyjamas)
A friend told me about this community of readers called Cititor În Pijama. If you visit their Facebook page, you’ll see posts about reading, book launches, and sometimes interviews hosted by Elena Ghitulescu. She set up an interview with me about my books, reading, slam poetry, and generalities about my life as an author.
We went to a recording studio, which is part of a local news station’s office. It was professionally set up, no doubt about it. I felt like I was about to give an interview on live TV.
You can check the interview in Romanian at this link.
Interview for the BookNation community
No, it’s not in English. It may seem like a global community, but they’re not. Booknation.ro is their website and everything they do is in Romanian.
Basically, they focus on book reviews, interviews with authors, quizzes, quotes from authors, literary news, booklists, and more.
I’ve been given the chance to do a written interview on their website. It came as a surprise to me.
However, I jumped on the occasion and answered a set of 12 standard questions that they normally go for when interviewing authors.
Check out this interview in Romanian here. I wasn’t shy to respond to the hard questions, so take that as an extra incentive to read it 🙂
Moreover, my book is also featured in their library.
Publishing of “Meetings of fate” on www.mybestseller.ro
If you’ve been following my journey, you’ve already seen that I launched “Meetings of fate” in May 2023 through a Romanian independent publisher called MyBestseller.
This is the first book in the Angel Afterlife series, which is about a journey toward self-awareness to uncover one’s inner power in order to stop a demon apocalypse. Yes, this is the plot!
It’s a combination of fantasy and self-help, a style I call sy-help. Now don’t get me wrong. The mainstream category for this series would be paranormal & urban fantasy.
Even if standards are there for a reason, I’ll always try to be my authentic and creative self. That’s just who I am.
I’m sure you’ll like the story and my writing style. *whispers* don’t take my word for it and check the reviews 🙂
Paperback version & eBook version. The rest is easy.
Editing of “Inflection point”, the second book in the Angel Afterlife series
Well, I’ve made it public that I’m going to publish a book from this series every one to two years. I want to make good on that promise.
As such, I’ve already sent the second book in the series, “Inflection point”, for professional native editing. Yet again, the platform fiverr.com has helped me to find a good editor.
I love English, I have been writing in this language for many years, though I still require assistance for line editing and proofreading. Do you know when authors find a typo in their book? It’s after they’ve published it. It’s an inside joke 😀
So, be on the lookout for news about this upcoming book. I plan to publish it in 2024. Thanks for being with me on this journey. You won’t regret it.

Spoken word and slam poetry competitions
Not sure if you know this, but I’m a big fan of spoken word poetry, especially the slam poetry subdivision so to say.
This phenomenon has sprung up in the United States many years ago, but it roots can be traced back to classical Greek oral poetry.
The gist of it is about poetry dedicated for performance. You go on stage and pour your heart out through your poem. You can borrow elements from hip-hop, public speaking, and acting if you want to. I also add personal development advices and metaphors to spice things up.
In 2022 and 2023, I participated at several different competitions in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Some were dedicated to spoken word, others to slam poetry. The main communities in Cluj-Napoca are Poethree and Nest – Slam poetry. Go check them out on social media. Maybe we’ll meet at one of their events.
The bottom line difference between them, in my humble opinion, is the competitiveness aspect. Spoken word is more in line with reciting one of your heartfelt poems in a friendly environment. On the other side, slam poetry is competitive in nature because you compete against other poets and you get marks for your performance.
Let’s wrap up the latest news about me, shall we?
Thanks for reading until the end. I wanted to give you an update on where I’m at in different journeys: book publishing, slam poetry, doing interviews 🙂
